MICA’s summer season of entertainment and social networking kicked off with executive producer Andy Wilman and Esquire publishers Hearst.
Our members and supporters quizzed Andy on the shows’ relationships with vehicle manufacturers, stars’ driving skills in the reasonably priced car and which single show he would take to a desert island?
Andy could not be pinned down on an overall best episode, citing the race across Japan and the seasonal Middle East Special following the path of the three wise men as top equals.
Through the day-to-day mayhem of managing presenters Clarkson, May and Hammond;  responsibility for a crew on international travels; and liaising with BBC then Amazon bosses back at HQ, Andy displayed astute comms skills.
“Make the more time we spend with colleagues than loved ones memorable by giving a bit of theatre,” he said.  “Do better than responding to inquiring media with bland corporate statements, and protect your work from ignorance and lack of passion from within your own organisation.  We knew motoring’s popularity among the blue collar, white collar and even dog collar wearing masses.”
Andy was interviewed by Esquire style director Johnny Davis as part of MICA’s partnership staging this event with Hearst UK.
Young MICA
